Domestic Violence, Self Empowerment, and Modeling Workshop 2012” to Strengthen Girls and Young Ladies MITCHELLVILLE, Md. – KennedyFoundation.Net will help empower and educate girls/young ladies through domestic violence prevention, self empowerment, and modeling workshops, thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation – the philanthropic arm of Verizon Communications. Girls Wear P.I.N.K. ~ Purpose, Integrity, Nobility, and Knowledge will offer a 10 week domestic violence prevention workshop to include, resources, advice, testimonies, presentations, encouragement and empowerment while instilling knowledge of signs and characteristics of the abuser and what love does and does not feel like to name a few. Girls who participate in this workshop will live in love, hope, strength, confidence, and without fear of living in abuse and violence. “Victims of domestic violence often remain in abusive relationships because they don’t feel they have the emotional and mental strength to leave,” said Stephanie K. Page, president and CEO of KennedyFoundation.Net. “Our empowerment workshops and spiritual seminars help motivate victims to make better choices for their lives. “Our workshop will help develop girls’ own beliefs of self worth, they will be inspired to know their value and expect the respect and love they deserve,” Page added. “We will impart positive thoughts and information to serve the spirit, mind and body.” Domestic violence is a national epidemic. It has no religious, political, economical, race, color, age, gender or social boundaries.
